Public Health exists to address the health needs of the community and is a means by which our citizens can enjoy optimal health.

In June 2007, the Scotland County Health Department was awarded full accreditation by the North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation Board. Being accredited validates and reinforces what we already knew about our agency and services. I am proud of our staff and our Board of Health for their professionalism in providing quality public health services to our community. The citizens of Scotland County should also take pride in the quality service that their health department provides.
