The Child Service Coordination program began in October
1990 to enhance services to children with special needs and
their families. The purpose was to expand the pool of potential
service providers to include other agencies that serve young
children, such as Area Mental Health programs, Developmental
Evaluation Center, Sickle Cell programs, Head Start, and
other public and private agencies. The goals of the Child
Service Coordination program are to collaborate and cooperate
with families to assure identification of and access to prevention,
specialized and support services for themselves, and their
children. The local Health Departments were named as the
local lead agencies for this program.
CSC Families will have:
- Improved access to services pursuant to Federal Child
Find Initiatives

children
